Mill Guy blog
This blog is a record of my experiences at the Powell River paper mill

History
The above photo is taken at Powell River B.C. Canada in 1912. The two paper machines in the background are appropriately named One and Two–both were eventually decommissioned around 1970.
The Powell River mill was the home to 11 such machines (reduced to three in operation before the mill closed in December 2021). In its heyday, the Powell River mill employed over 2000 men and women. It was reduced to 400 before being shut down due to downsizing and technological advancements.
